I’ve been there.
Staring at the blinking cursor.
I know I have to post SOMETHING. But what?
I get it. I’ve been there.
Writing engaging captions is so important for connecting with our followers and potential followers. They are also key in getting our followers to take action in working with us.
Here are my top 3 tips for writing captions:
1. Entice readers to click on the … more often by making your opening statement click-worthy. I get it. Sometimes after a long day of working the last thing we want to do is come up with something captivating but how many times do you think your followers want to see:
Outdoor Wedding
Micro-Wedding In The Park
Today’s Elopement
You get the point. Give them something that gives them some insight into who you are, who your company is.
2. Working off of the first point, how long should your caption be? I break it down into 3 caption types in my course Slay The Gram but to get you started - I want you to think about which captions have gotten you to take the next step on something. Or the ones that made you feel like you actually knew the person behind the Instagram account. What value are you building? What information are you giving them that helps them solve a problem? Yes, looking for a company to be the DJ, photographer, planner, designer at their event IS a problem that they want and need to solve.
3. You’ve enticed them with the opening statement. You’ve built a connection with the body of your caption. Now what? Call them to action! Get them to “do”. This could be anything that gets them into the natural rhythm of connecting with you and your account.
